Creating Links & Search Within Your Shop

by Justin Dean

SEARCH URL STRING

The following is a URL string you can use to search your shop for a specific word:

http://1262.spreadshirt.com/us/US/Shop/?&search[text]=halloween

• Replace '1262' with your shop number
• Replace 'halloween' with the word you want to search for.
• The word you search for must appear in the title or description of the product for it to show up in the results.

You could easily use this URL string to add text links within your shop that link to different custom categories.

Adding the following html string to your shop would create a link that says "Halloween T-Shirts" that links to all the halloween products in your shop

<a href="http://1262.spreadshirt.com/us/US/Shop/?&search[text]=halloween">Halloween T-Shirts</a>

You could also create an image, like an advertisement that promotes your halloween products, and link the image using the above URL.

PRODUCT CODES

Get creative with the search terms you use and add codes to each of your tshirt descriptions. NekkidTees.com uses the following code type:

Since there are both Mens and Womens clothing, start your code with [GIRLS] and [GUYS] that way you can tell the links which direction to head when clicked.

Second thing to do is then take ALL designs and make a list, usually in Word or whatever program, and then number them starting at 1.

Then once you make a T-shirt with a design, reference the number on your Word file with what you just made and then if it was a Girls or Guys shirt you add that tag to it.

Example:
[GUYS-92]

URL: https://30220.spreadshirt.com/us/US/Shop/?&search[text]=[GUYS-92]

By doing this you can link directly to all Mens or Womens shirts using a specific design. When clicked all shirts for that design will appear!

Granted this is a lot of work but it's worth it. By doing this you can run specials like marking down a design a couple bucks and running an advertisment that links directly to that design.

Using both of these methods work well but we would recommend you come up with a system that works for you. Using the design name would be better for SEO (search engine optimization) since you would get more keywords on the page.
